Hannover 96 Expands Partnership With HDI To Include Sleeve Deal

Bundesliga side Hannover 96 extended and expanded its agreement with stadium naming rights partner HDI, according to SOCCEREX. The insurance group will also serve as the club’s "first ever sleeve sponsor" for the '17-18 season. The two parties, which first joined up in '13, "agreed to renew their association" through the '19-20 season, with an additional option to extend the contract until '23. HDI reportedly pays an annual €2.6M ($3.1M) for the naming rights to the HDI-Arena (SOCCEREX, 8/8). INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL's Paul Nicholson reported HDI is the ninth sponsor to "take up the newly created sleeve sponsorship which until the end of last season was marketed centrally" by the German Football League (DFL). Other clubs with sleeve sponsors for the upcoming season include: Borussia Dortmund: Opel; RB Leipzig: CG Group; TSG 1899 Hoffenheim: Prowin; Hertha BSC: Tedi; Schalke: Allyouneed; Eintracht Frankfurt: Deutsche Börse and VfB Stuttgart: Garmo / Gazi (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 8/8).
