West Ham United Allowed To Play EFL Cup Matches Away From London Stadium
Premier League side West Ham United received "special dispensation" to play its English Football League Cup second-round match away from home as the London Stadium "will still not be ready to host football matches," according to the PA. The club already has permission to play its opening EPL games on the road, with its first coming at ManU on Sunday, as the venue "will be altered back into football mode having hosted the athletics World Championships." The track and field event does not finish until Sunday, "with seating and signage then requiring changing" before West Ham moves back into the stadium (PA, 8/7).
