Olympique Lyonnais Signs Groupama As Naming Sponsor For Parc OL

Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais announced a deal with French insurance company Groupama for the naming rights to the Parc OL, according to L’ÉQUIPE. The contract is for three years and is renewable. The Parc OL was opened in Jan. ’16 and will now be known as the Groupama Stadium (L’ÉQUIPE, 7/13). LE PROGRES’ François Guttin-Lombard reported OL President Jean-Michel Aulas said, “It’s a short contract, but we imagine it will be renewed if our partner is satisfied.” A confidentiality clause prevents the amount of the deal from being revealed. Last month, reports stated that negotiations between the club and Groupama assured the company would receive €5M-€7M ($5.7M-$8M) per year (LE PROGRES, 7/13).
