Media Notes: Dutch Regulator ACM Ends Investigation Into Fox Sports Eredivisie

Dutch competition regulator Authority for Consumers & Markets "ended its preliminary investigation into Fox Sports Eredivisie." The ACM has "insufficient evidence that consumers suffer from the change in terms that Fox proposed last year to the distributors of Eredivisie live football." Fox has exclusive rights to broadcast live games of the top Dutch football league (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/11).

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy moved the Indian Supreme Court on Tuesday "seeking e-auction of media rights for Indian Premier League" matches. The auction process for IPL media rights is scheduled to begin on Aug. 17 and the rights "would operate for a period of five years." The matter was brought before a bench headed by Chief Justice J.S. Khehar, who said that it "would be taken up at a later date" (LIVE MINT, 7/11).

ManU's official TV network, MUTV, is now available in the U.K. and Ireland via a newly-launched streaming service at mutv.com. The service, which is accessible to watch online via desktop, tablet and mobile, provides access to the latest match action and news from ManU, without needing a satellite subscription (ManU).

Chinese TV brand Konka announced the launch of a TV specifically designed for Serie A side Inter Milan fans, the LED55R90. This new TV will be "equipped with a screen using MEMC Pro and HDR2 technology, in order to deliver every moment on the pitch." Konka partnered with audio equipment manufacturer Harman Kardon and "used the Dolby's technology to secure a high sound quality" (SOHU, 7/10).
