League Notes: FFA To Receive Joint Delegation From FIFA, AFC

Football Federation Australia is "set to be given a lesson in democracy from a North Korean official." A delegation of administrators from the Asian Football Confederation and FIFA is "set to arrive in Australia this month." It follows the inability of the FFA board and Chair Steven Lowy to "reach consensus with stakeholders" for an expanded membership tier required by FIFA. Participating in the joint mission to Australia with the AFC will be representatives from FIFA's Member Associations Committee, which includes Han Un Gyong from North Korea (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 7/7).

The first prototype of the cockpit head protection system preferred by Formula 1 is "to be tested at next weekend's British Grand Prix." Ferrari will conduct "shield" device tests in the first free practice session at Silverstone on Friday. The shield is what F1 execs have prioritized over the "halo" system tested in '16 (BBC, 7/8).
