Eurosport To Broadcast Wimbledon, Qualifying Tournament In 34 Territories

For the first time, Eurosport will show Wimbledon in as many as 34 countries. Eurosport will have exclusive coverage of the tournament in markets including Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia and Sweden. As well as comprehensive coverage of the tournament on Eurosport linear channels, every match will be available to watch on Eurosport Player, meaning fans will have access to around 250 hours of live coverage. Eurosport announced earlier this month it will show the main court from the Wimbledon qualifying tournament live in all 34 territories. Eurosport global ambassador Mats Wilander will front the network's coverage (Eurosport).

BUNDESLIGA COVERAGE: BROADBAND TV NEWS' Jörn Krieger reported Discovery Networks Deutschland won the first distribution partner rights package for the upcoming Bundesliga season in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Swiss pay-TV platform operator Teleclub will show the live games exclusively in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The coverage will be broadcast via Eurosport on Teleclub Sport. Discovery and Eurosport also "extended their long-term partnership for carriage of Discovery's channels on the Teleclub platform." In Germany, however, Discovery has "so far not managed to find a distribution partner" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 6/21).
