Betfair Launches 'Fairer Game' To Improve Opportunities For Female Coaches

Betfair launched its "Fairer Game" campaign which aims to promote better training and opportunities for female coaches in football. The betting firm has the long-term aim of doubling the number of female coaches with UEFA A licenses, which currently stands at 29, compared to 1,484 men in England. Betfair will provide participants with funding for coaching qualifications and access to grassroots clubs through the Cash4Clubs scheme. The campaign will see Betfair fund 50 female coaches who will undergo their UEFA B licenses. Former England footballer Rachel Yankey, who is training for her UEFA A license, will front the campaign, which partnered with Women in Football, a network of professional women working in and around the sport. Betfair will provide the £50,000 ($63,400) required to place the 50 coaches in the relevant courses, with the campaign running until each coach has completed the program. The online bookmaker will also provide learning opportunities for the coaches through the pre-existing Cash4Clubs initiative (Betfair).
