Top14 Side RC Toulon Under Threat Of Relegation Due To €2M Deficit

Top14 side RC Toulon is reportedly “under the threat of relegation” by the French National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG) because of a deficit of close to €2M ($2.2M), according to 20 MINUTES. The debt is mainly from the €1.7M ($1.9M) fine the club must pay to kit provider Puma “because of an early breach of contract.” RCT President Mourad Boudjellal is proposing to “fill the deficit by increasing capital.” That decision means the RCT Association, which oversees the club’s amateur sector and owns 49% of RCT’s shares, would “lose more control over decision making.” RCT Association President Alex Massari said, “Mourad has done a lot for the club, but we cannot let his hands free and allow anyone to invest capital.
