Media Notes: Liverpool To Set Record For Most Televised Matches In EPL Season

Liverpool will set a record in its "crucial" game against Middlesbrough for the "most televised matches for one club in a Premier League season." The club has been "entertaining" as the Premier League's joint-second highest scoring team this season (75), along with Man City, behind champion Chelsea which has 80 goals so far. ManU is the "most televised team in Premier League history with 497 games broadcast live, followed by Liverpool (425) and Arsenal (422)" (London TELEGRAPH, 5/17).

TSN announced a new, multi-year rights agreement with CONCACAF which sees the Canadian sports channel become the official broadcaster of the Gold Cup and CONCACAF Champions League (TSN). 

U.K.-based TV sports production and media company Sunset+Vine secured the host broadcast production contract for the Caribbean Premier League 2017, which takes place between Aug. 4 and Sept. 9. As well as producing the world feed for the competition, Sunset+Vine will also be responsible for all pre- and post-match programming, plus a weekly magazine show that will be a mix of match highlights, behind-the-scenes footage and features (TELEVISION POST, 5/16).

Proximus was awarded the live broadcast rights to the Belgian Pro League “for the next three seasons.” Proximus is currently the naming sponsor to Belgium’s second-tier football league. Telenet and VOO were awarded the non-exclusive broadcast rights to matches in Flemish and French, respectively (LE SOIR, 5/15).
