GREAT Britain Marketing Campaign Entering Sailing Team In Clipper '17-18 Yacht Race

The U.K. Government's GREAT Britain marketing campaign will enter a team in the Clipper '17-18 Round the World Yacht Race, which starts in August, according to MY SAILING. The partnership was revealed in Portsmouth. Int'l Trade Minister Mark Garnier said, "The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is a huge opportunity to showcase the best of British to the world." The GREAT Britain team yacht carries its new slogan, Welcome to GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland, across both sides of its hull. The GREAT Britain campaign "showcases the very best" of what the U.K. has to offer to "encourage the world to visit, study and do business" with the U.K. The campaign unifies the int'l growth promotion efforts of different government departments and private sector companies, "working with around 500 businesses and 21 government departments and Arm’s Length Bodies." The campaign focuses on China, India, Brazil, the U.S., the Gulf, France, Germany, Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Emerging Europe and is "also active in over 144 countries worldwide" (MY SAILING, 4/21).
