Newly Promoted Ligue 1 Side Nancy Confirms Club To Be Sold To Chinese Investors

Ligue 1 side Nancy President Jacques Rousselot “confirmed the imminent purchase of the club by a Chinese investor conglomerate,” according to the AFP. Rousselot said that the prospective buyers have an “ambition to be in the Champions League quickly.” He said, “Their goal is to be in the Champions League in three to four years. That is the reason I believe in the group. … The future budget will be between €100 million and €120 million ($111M-$133M).” The Chinese investors have until Nov. 15 to purchase the club, otherwise the “already signed sales agreement would lapse.” Nancy was promoted last summer and sits 19th in the Ligue 1 table (AFP, 11/3).
