More Than 4 Million Watch Lewis Hamilton's USGP Victory On German Channel RTL

German free-to-air TV channel RTL "drew more than 4 million viewers for its broadcast of Sunday's U.S. F1 Grand Prix," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The channel attracted 4.34 million viewers for the race starting at 9pm. The figure translated into a market share of 13.4%. In the target demographic 14-49, the race, which was won by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, obtained an 11.2% share as 1.37 million viewers tuned in.

TENNIS TIME
: German public broadcaster ZDF recorded close to 1 million viewers for its broadcast of the WTA Finals from Singapore. The game between German world No. 1 Angelique Kerber and Dominika Cibulkova drew 940,000 viewers. The corresponding market share was 6.3%.

WINTER WORLD: The start of the winter sports season attracted 1.16 million viewers on ZDF. The coverage of the men's giant slalom race obtained a market share of 8.3%. In the target demo, the race from Sölden, Austria, drew a 3.3% share (DWDL, 10/24).

LONDON CALLING: QUOTENMETER's Manuel Weis reported German free-to-air TV channel ProSieben Maxx drew around 200,000 for its NFL broadcast from London. The game between the L.A. Rams and N.Y. Giants at Twickenham stadium had an average market share of 1.9%. The game's final phase saw the viewership increase to 230,000 viewers, with a corresponding market share of 2.4%. The game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles recorded 290,000 viewers starting at 7:50pm. It drew a 1.9% share in the target demo. The day's third game featured the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers. The matchup drew a 2.9% market share as 230,000 tuned in shortly before 11pm (QUOTENMETER, 10/24).
