Supermarket Chain Lidl Expanding Support Of French Handball With New Deals

Already a partner of the French Handball Federation (FFHB) via its dairy brand Envia and a naming sponsor of the French National Handball League, supermarket chain Lidl has “reinforced its engagement in French handball with its mineral water brand Saguaro becoming an official provider of the French national women’s and men’s team,” according to Alexandre Bailleul of SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS. The sponsorship sees Saguaro become the official water of the French national teams until Dec. ’18, and succeeds Cristaline (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 10/5). In a separate piece, Bailleul reported Lidl announced the “signing of a partnership with French handball int’l Nikola Karabatic." Karabatic has become an “official ambassador of Lidl’s dairy brand Envia.” The partnership has been signed for one year, and Lidl will “release an ad spot” with Karabatic on Oct. 11 (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 10/5).
