Paris St. Germain Announces Dedicated Esports Team With Help From Webedia

Paris St. Germain announced the creation of a dedicated esports team in a partnership with online media company Webedia. The PSG esport franchise will be composed of professional players that will compete in int’l video game competitions. As the first French sports club to create an esports team, PSG hopes to engage the esports fan base and showcase its brand around the world. PSG Merchandising & Brand Diversification Dir Fabien Allègre said, “PSG’s arrival in the esport space is a historic moment for the club. … We are entering into the sector with lots of ambition and are ready to inscribe our team into the history of this new sport.” More details about the franchise will be revealed by the club at the end of October (PSG).
