Marketplace Roundup: Shampoo Brand Alpecin Becomes Official Partner Of Tour Of Britain

Shampoo brand Alpecin, the title sponsor of Giant-Alpecin, became an official partner of the Tour of Britain, the U.K.'s biggest professional cycle race. Alpecin is the latest int'l brand to become a partner of the Tour of Britain, which takes place from Sept. 4-11. In addition to VIP Hospitality packages and experiential rights, Alpecin will also benefit from increased visibility with naming rights and additional branding around the Stage Seven individual time trial (BIKE BIZ, 7/15).

QNB TO BACK TRABZONSPORQatar National Bank and Turkish football club Trabzonspor signed an agreement under which the bank has become the main sponsor of the Turkish team. The deal grants the bank access to jersey sponsorship for three years and access to advertising rights, public relations cooperation, social media and digital rights (THE PENINSULA, 7/15).

BARCELONA ADDS SPONSORBarcelona and Betfair signed a global agreement that makes the betting company one of the official global partners of the club for the next three seasons. As a result of this agreement, which came into force on July 1, Barcelona and Betfair will be collaborating in different areas such as image association rights, visibility of branding on the Camp Nou LED system, and a variety of digital benefits (Barcelona).

Mobile network operator EE is bringing back its Wembley Cup digital campaign, an eight-part YouTube series showing YouTubers "preparing to take on esports players for a match." The initial campaign, launched last year, "was intended to push EE's sponsorship of Wembley Stadium." This time, it will promote BT Sport's mobile offering being available for free to EE customers for six months. The series "will run on Spencer FC's YouTube channel, and a dedicated EE page" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 7/15).

STATS LLC will provide Brasileiro club Corinthians with STATS SportVU player tracking technology and PROZONE3 analytics software to support enhanced performance analysis operations. STATS SportVU is an optical player tracking system that tracks the positions of players and the ball 25 times per second. The PROZONE3 analysis platform is used by some of the biggest teams in the world to facilitate technical, tactical and physical analysis (STATS LLC).

Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Bayern Munich has created a new platform for its sponsors. The club founded a business circle, which consists of around 80 members from business, sport and society. The business circle will initially include four events at which members can exchange ideas and network (Bayern Munich).
