Audi Tops List Of Advertising Spenders During Euro 2016 On German TV

German TV channels ARD, ZDF and Sat.1 "have generated advertising income of more than €45M ($50M) during Euro 2016," according to Kathrin Hartmann of SPONSORs. The biggest spender has been German car brand Audi. The Ingolstadt-based company has spent €1.77M ($1.96M) to advertise its R8 model during ARD's Euro 2016 coverage. The figure is the result of an analysis by media and marketing consulting company Ebiquity Germany on behalf of Sponsors. Companies spent a total of €45.57M ($50.6M) for TV exposure during this year's European Championship across the three German channels. The biggest chunk of the money went to ARD, which generated €21.5M ($23.9M). The top sponsor during ZDF's coverage was official UEFA sponsor Hyundai/Kia, which spent €680,000 ($754,500) and €620,000 ($688,000), respectively. Sports betting provider Betway topped the list of Sat.1 spenders. The company invested €830,000 ($921,000) to be part of Sat.1's game coverage (SPONSORs, 7/6).
