France Allocates Another $11.2M For Paris 2024 Olympic Bid

France Sport Secretary of State Thierry Braillard announced on Wednesday that €10M ($11.2M) will be “allocated to the Paris 2024 bid,” according to L'EQUIPE. The funds “will come from the National Center of Sport Development,” whose budget for ’16 is estimated at €264M ($295M). The €10M will be “offset by an increase of the tax ceiling on the Euro 2016 stadiums.” The overall budget for the Paris bid is estimated at €60M ($67.1M) until Sept. '17, "the date of the election.” The bid is financed “in part by public funds (France, the city of Paris, and the Ile-de-France region) who will each contribute €10M, and half by private funds raised by the Sport Movement” (L'EQUIPE, 9/30).
