Four Women's Golf Tours Launch New International Team Event In Japan

Four of the world’s major women’s golf tours have launched a brand new team competition called The Queens presented by Kowa, which will take place from Dec. 4-6 at Miyoshi Country Club, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Four teams of nine players from the Australian Ladies Professional Golf, Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association, Ladies European Tour and the Ladies’ Professional Golfers’ Association of Japan (JLPGA) will compete in the three-day tournament with a total purse of 100M yen ($833,000). Qualification for the Ladies European Tour team is open to LET members from Europe, the Middle East and Asia and the team of nine will be announced in October. The format will be matchplay with a combination of foursomes, four ball match-play and singles spanning the three days and a points system to decide the winning team (LET).
