Germany's 3rd League Sets New Attendance Record As Revenue Decreases

Germany's 3rd League "has set a new attendance record as more than 2.5 million fans attended the games," according to Henning Eberhardt of SPONSORs. On the financial side, the league "was able to generate its second highest number since its inception." A total attendance of 2,563,562 attended the league's 380 games. The number translates into an average attendance of 6,746. The previous record stood at 2,342,369 or an average of 6,164, which was set during the '13-14 season. Dynamo Dresden welcomed the most spectators as a total of 429,067 attended the club's 19 home games. That is an average of 22,582 per game. The league's revenue of €145M ($164M) is its second highest. The number means each of the 17 clubs, which were taken into account, made on average €8.5M ($9.6M) in revenue in '14-15. The league's record-setting revenue of €178M was generated during the '13-14 season (SPONSORs, 9/1).
