Russell Crowe Drops Interest In League Championship Side Leeds United Takeover

Actor Russell Crowe "will not continue his interest" in taking over League Championship side Leeds United, according to ESPN. The Australian actor admitted earlier this year that he was growing "impatient" regarding the progress of the club's takeover, and revealed on Twitter that he would not follow through his interest because of the time it was taking. The 50-year-old already owns National Rugby League side South Sydney Rabbitohs and tweeted that "his children came first when he was considering new business opportunities." Crowe said, "I love the club and I want nothing but success for the club, so I have a simple fan perspective. But I don't want to put any pressure on the current administration, I never sort of said that to put a rocket up their backside but I think it worked anyway. But that wasn't intentional and it's not for sale at this point in time" (ESPN, 8/25).
