German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland has appointed ROMAN STEUER "as its new exec VP starting Sept. 1." Steuer "previously was responsible for sports news channel Sky Sport News HD." In his new position, Steuer "will head the complete sports department of Sky Deutschland." He replaces CARSTEN SCHMIDT "who became the network's new CEO" (SPONSORs, 8/20). ... Former Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille coach JOSE ANIGO "has quit as coach of Tunisia's Esperance after just seven games in charge." The 54-year-old Frenchman departed after Saturday's 0-1 home defeat by Al Ahli of Egypt that confirmed Esperance's exit from the African Confederation Cup." Club officials said that assistant coach BERNARD RODRIGUEZ will take over the team (REUTERS, 8/23).
