The Int'l Rugby Players Association announced the appointments of JOHNNY SEXTON and RICHIE MCCAW as the inaugural presidents for north and south, respectively. Sexton and McCaw will take an active part on various IRPA Player Advisory Groups (IRPA). ... Oilers Entertainment Group named AEG GM for São Paulo's Allianz Parque SUSAN DARRINGTON VP and general manager for Rogers Place. She previously helped operate CenturyLink Field from '04-12 as First & Goal Inc. VP of facility operations and services (OEG). Darrington is "following in her father's footsteps." Her father, NEIL CAMPBELL, managed Northlands Coliseum when it opened in '72, which is also "where Darrington worked as a teenage usher" in the '80s "during the Oilers dynasty years." Darrington also will "run the launch of another new facility, overseeing operations, hiring staff, booking events and planning" the '16 opening of the new Rogers Place (EDMONTON JOURNAL, 8/19). ... Spaniard PAKO AYESTARAN "has been named the new head coach of reigning Liga MX champion Santos Laguna." Ayestaran was assistant to RAFA BENITEZ in his "stints in winning La Liga with Valencia and the Champions League at Liverpool." Outgoing coach PEDRO CAIXINHA "unexpectedly quit the club last Saturday" (ESPN, 8/20).
