Repucom announced it will be opening an office in South Korea. Based in Seoul, Repucom's new business operations will be led by JOHN MOU, who takes up the role of managing director, Korea. He will take charge of business operations for the venture. Prior to joining Repucom, Mou had worked for more than 14 years for the FIFA accommodation office and MATCH Hospitality across various FIFA tournaments, including the men's and women's World Cups (Repucom). ... Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille has hired Spaniard MICHEL "as coach after the shock resignation" of MARCELO BIELSA "over a contract dispute earlier this month." The former Real Madrid player, whose real name is JOSE MIGUEL GONZALEZ DEL CAMPO, "has started immediately" (REUTERS, 8/19). ... The Costa Rica Football Federation introduced ÓSCAR RAMÍREZ as the national team's head coach on Tuesday. It was widely assumed the job would fall to the 50-year-old former Alajuelense manager following PAULO WANCHOPE's "fateful brawl and subsequent resignation last week." Ramírez is taking over a team that "has not won a match in nearly a year." He said, "I know the responsibility of what I'm getting into" (TICO TIMES, 8/18).

IAAF APPOINTMENTS: SEBASTIAN COE was elected president of the IAAF on Wednesday. He beat SERGEY BUBKA by 115 votes to 92 in the election, "promising to give more power to national federations in his attempts to grow the sport." Bubka was later elected one of four IAAF VPs, along with Cuban ALBERTO JUANTORENA, Qatari DAHLAN AL HAMAD and HAMAD KALKABA MALBOUM of Cameroon (REUTERS, 8/19).
