COACHES/LEAGUES: Liga MX side Santos Laguna coach PEDRO CAIXINHA resigned from his position, a little more than two months since guiding the team to the Clausura 2015 title. His name "has been linked to the vacant Mexico national team post" since MIGUEL HERRERA was released on July 28, but he had "previously seemed to deny he was interested in the job." The club has "just one win" from its first five games of the current season (ESPN, 8/15). ... The Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) announced on Saturday that Spaniard MIGUEL ÁNGEL PORTUGAL was appointed coach of the Bolivian national football team following the resignation of MAURICIO SORIA. FBF Treasurer WÁLTER ZULETA said that Portugal, who previously coached Club Bolivar in Bolivia and Atlético Paranaense in Brazil, met "the immediate criteria" of the national side (AFP, 8/15).
