Chinese Online Streaming Services Tencent, Sina Share UEFA Rights In China

Chinese online streaming services Tencent Sports and Sina Sports "have both claimed the rights to broadcast matches from the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League in the country" until '18, according to SOCCEREX. Tencent's deal "will see them live stream 146 Champions League and 205 Europa League games per season, including games from the qualifying rounds." Sina, meanwhile, "will show 78 Champions League and 41 Europa League matches." According to Yutang Sports, Tencent "will also show a highlights package and a weekly magazine show." Neither company "has disclosed financial details of their deals" (SOCCEREX, 8/11).
