Bundesliga Clubs Sell More Than 450,000 Season Tickets For Upcoming Season

The 18 Bundesliga clubs "have sold a combined more than 450,000 season tickets for the '15-16 season," according to Nils Lehnebach of SPONSORs. A request by the ARD "Sportschau" program found that the clubs have sold a total of 454,054 season tickets for the upcoming season. Borussia Dortmund leads all teams with 55,000 season tickets sold. Schalke and Bayern Munich follow with 43,945 and 38,000 sold tickets, respectively. The trio together with seven other teams "stopped sales early." The list also included promoted teams FC Ingolstadt and Darmstadt, which sold 10,000 and 11,000 season tickets, respectively. Due to an early sales stop at a majority of the clubs, the fluctuation "has been rather low." Seven clubs "sold the same number of season tickets last year" (SPONSORs, 7/29).
