London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park To Host Freeze Big Air In November

London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will host Britain's "biggest-ever snow sports and music event this November," according to Chad Wiley of TRANSWORLD BUSINESS. From the creators of Boardmasters, Freeze Big Air will host the Int'l Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup Big Air and Int'l Ski Invitational on Nov. 14. The Freeze Big Air event will form part of UK Sport's National Lottery-funded major events program and see more than 60 of the world's best male and female snowboarders and skiers descend on London to "take on a huge real snow jump measuring 120m x 41m" -- that is 15m longer than the Wembley Stadium pitch -- created out of 360 tons of snow. British Olympic Bronze Medalist Jenny Jones will be the official event ambassador. With Snowboard Big Air now set to be an official Olympic event, Freeze Big Air will become one of the "most important" annual Olympic Big Air qualifiers on the calendar. Freeze Big Air event partners include UK Sport, British Ski & Snowboard, London & Partners, Mayor of London and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (TRANSWORLD BUSINESS, 7/27).
