Marketplace Roundup: Werder Bremen Extends Deal With Landmann Until 2018

Bundesliga club Werder Bremen signed an early contract extension with Landmann until the end of the '17-18 season. The manufacturer of grill and barbeque equipment has been a parnter of the club since '14 (Werder Bremen). ... German 3rd League football club Dynamo Dresden "has extended its sponsorship agreement with Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden." The local branch of the bank will remain a partner of the side for another two years, taking its association to June 30, 2017. The renewal was brokered by Sportfive (SOCCEREX, 7/15). ... Serie A side Empoli FC has named Joma Sport its new technical partner. The Spanish sportswear manufacturer will "supply the club with match kit for the next three seasons." Empoli has also secured Gensan as its new main sponsor for the '15-16 season. The agreement "will see Gensan, a sports nutrition company, become the club's front-of-shirt sponsor" (SOCCEREX, 7/16). ... Abu Dhabi carrier Etihad Airways "signed a sponsorship agreement to become the official airline" of Saudi Arabian football club Al Ittihad. As part of the deal, Etihad "will receive prominent branding at home matches and training, access to players for marketing activities, presence at press conferences and other exclusive events" (GULF BUSINESS, 7/16). ... Scottish Championship club Dumbarton's stadium "will have a new name this season" after the club agreed to a deal with local company Cheaper Insurance Direct. The stadium will now be called the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium. The company "will become Dumbarton's sponsor as part of a two-year agreement" subject to Scottish FA approval (DUMBARTON REPORTER, 7/16).
