Former President Garrone Invested More Than €60M In Serie A Side Sampadoria

Serie A side Sampdoria's latest financial statements show that former President Edoardo Garrone invested more than €60M in the club, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. Current President Massimo Ferrero has been "forced to publicly declare that the club is 'financially stable,'" after the Gazzetta dello Sport reported that serious losses were being made. The newspaper is "claiming that the latest accounts for the Blucerchiati's holding company support its claims," with the '14 financial statements showing that Garrone gave €62M to sports entertainment. The statements also show that Ferrero has put in €36M, almost €30M of which was "invested directly through the holding company" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 7/15).
