Marketplace Roundup: La Liga Signs Partnership With Brewer Mahou San Miguel

La Liga agreed to a partnership with brewer Mahou San Miguel as a sponsor of the LFP World Challenge. This commitment is valid until the end of '16 (La Liga). ... Johnstone's Paint has renewed its sponsorship of the Football League Trophy for the '15-16 season, taking the partnership into its 10th season. The trophy begins Aug. 31 and concludes on April 3 at Wembley Stadium with the winners earning up to £124,000 ($192,000) in prize money from a record fund (Football League). ... Second Bundesliga side SC Freiburg has renewed its sponsorship deals with Fischer Group and Almased. Both companies are in Freiburg's premium level of sponsors, "sitting just below the club's main sponsors," with both deals valued at around €100,000 ($110,000) a year (SOCCEREX, 7/7). ... Second Bundesliga club MSV Duisburg has signed a long-term extension with sports marketing agency Sportfive. The new contract has an initial duration of six years and includes an option to renew (Sportfive).
