Turkish Side Fenerbahce In Talks Over Stadium Naming Rights Sponsorship Deal

A senior exec of Turkish side Fenerbahce said that the club is "in talks with companies including Qatar National Bank for a sponsorship deal" that will include naming rights to its football stadium for the first time, according to Ercan Ersoy of BLOOMBERG. The exec said that potential sponsors also "include a Dubai-based company as well as companies in Turkey." The official said that negotiations for stadium naming rights for 10 years and for jerseys are "in an advanced stage and a deal could be signed soon." Fenerbahce Futbol AS, which holds rights to Fenerbahce football club, "jumped as much as 9.3 percent to 41.20 liras" at 5:15pm in Istanbul. Fenerbahce Chair Aziz Yildirim is "facing a re-trial in July after he was sentenced to prison over match-fixing allegations" during the '10-11 season. The club "plays its home games at Sukru Saracoglu stadium" (BLOOMBERG, 6/30).
