Red Bull F1 Team Principal CHRISTIAN HORNER has "revealed he has signed a contract extension that will secure his long-term future to the team." It ends all reports from the Austrian Grand Prix that he was "set to be axed from the role." Those reports have since been denied and Horner "has put pen to paper to keep him in his job, as he looks to lead the team back to the front of the grid" (London DAILY MIRROR, 6/28). ... TSN announced that acclaimed golf and curling journalist BOB WEEKS has signed an agreement to work with the network on a permanent full-time basis. Weeks will contribute regularly as a senior reporter and analyst for TSN's extensive slate of championship and curling events, which includes all four of golf's Majors as well as curling's Season of Champion events (TSN). ... Czech footballer JOSEF MASOPUST, who "led the national side to the final of the 1962 World Cup," has died aged 84. He "became the first Czech to win the Golden Ball award for the best footballer in Europe." Masopust, who made 63 int'l appearances, was "named the best Czech footballer of the century in '00" (AP, 6/29).
