Construction Company Murapol Unveils Plans To Take Over Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala

Polish construction company Murapol has unveiled plans to take over top tier club Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala, according to Jaroslaw Adamowski of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. The builder, which currently serves as the Ekstraklasa side's main sponsor and owns a 35% stake in Podbeskidzie, is "aiming to increase its shareholding to become the majority owner." Should the current negotiations between the city of Bielsko-Biala, which controls Podbeskidzie, and Murapol be successful, "Murapol could take over the side" before the beginning of the '15-16 Ekstraklasa season, which is scheduled to start on July 17. The "amount of the planned deal was not disclosed." However, the municipal authorities of Bielsko-Biala are "reportedly planning to continue their financial support to the club following the potential takeover by Murapol." In '11, the firm purchased a 24% stake in Podbeskidzie, and acquired a further 11% in '14 (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 6/24).
