Red Bull Founder Dietrich Mateschitz Denies Rumors Of Switch To Ferrari Engines

Red Bull Founder Dietrich Mateschitz "has denied rumors the F1 team would switch from Renault to Ferrari engines in '16," according to Sebastian Fränzschky of MOTORSPORT TOTAL. Mateschitz: "There is absolutely no alternative to Renault for 2016." No matter with what engine supplier Red Bull would cooperate, the outfit will always remain a customer team. Mateschitz: "You get the engine that is good enough to take away some points for your immediate opponent. However, it will never be good enough to beat the factory team from which the engine is coming from." He continued his criticism of the system by saying, "With customer engines no world championship chance. We are simply losing enjoyment" (MOTORSPORT TOTAL, 6/18).
