GREG PETERS has resigned as CEO of SANZAR. Peters is to "take up the role" of GM of the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) and "run the new Super Rugby franchise, which will join the competition next year." Peters also "oversaw Argentina's introduction" to the southern hemisphere's annual int'l competition, now called the Rugby Championship, alongside the three founder members of SANZAR for the '12 season (REUTERS, 5/28). ... MP & Silva announced the appointment of WILLIAM MAO as the new Americas VP of digital to bolster MP & Silva's presence in North America and to oversee digital and social media. Based in the N.Y. office, Williams joins Americas Senior VP & Managing Partner DANIEL COHEN. He will be involved in MP & Silva's strategic expansion around opportunities in sport on VOD, IPTV, OTT, live streaming, video clips and social media. Mao is a graduate from Yale University and the London Business School (MP & Silva). ... CRISTÓVÃO BORGES "will substitute" former Brasileiro side Flamengo coach VANDERLEI LUXEMBURGO. Borges, who was "sacked by Fluminense" in April, began training the club as of Wednesday (BAHIA NOTÍCIAS, 5/27).
