The National Sports Authority of the Bahamas has announced a strategic consulting and operations agreement with AEG Facilities to provide services for the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium and Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre in the capital city of Nassau. The agreement calls for AEG Facilities to provide operational, management and marketing services to the venue as well as working with the National Sports Authority and the Ministries of Youth, Sports, Culture & Tourism on creating and attracting new sports and entertainment events to the venue.
The Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium has a capacity of 30,000 and serves as the home of the Bahamas’ national football team and the Bahamas national track and field teams as well as many other special events such as the NCAA-sanctioned Bahamas Bowl, int'l football matches and the IAAF World Relay Championships. The Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre consists of several additional athletics venues, including a warm-up track complex, tennis stadium, natatorium, golf course, a gymnasium and opening soon a national baseball stadium (AEG Facilities).
