Companies Rush To Sponsor Cricketer Ben Stokes After Lord's Performance

England’s "new cricket hero Ben Stokes has a host of companies queuing up to sponsor him after his man-of-the-match exploits at Lord’s," according to Sale & Booth of the London DAILY MAIL. Stokes "would have struggled" to attract a £20,000 ($30,700) endorsement before hitting the fastest Test century at cricket’s HQ "to set up the thrilling victory over New Zealand in the first Test." The Durham all-rounder "found himself in demand," with the expectation that he can command £60,000 ($92,000) to put a firm’s name on his bat. His agents "are currently in talks with companies looking for sponsorship opportunities in cricket" (DAILY MAIL, 5/26).
