Bundesliga Club Augsburg Receives Interest From Asia, Eastern Europe

Bundesliga side FC Augsburg President Klaus Hofmann "has together with an investor group become the new majority shareholder of the club," according to Holger Rehm of SPONSORs. However, Hofmann has now revealed that former club President Walther Seinsch "could have sold the club for distinctively higher price." He said that there had been "offers from Asia and Eastern Europe to acquire shares in the Bundesliga club." Hofmann: "Those shares were sought after. Mr. Seinsch could have sold them for a distinctively higher price than he did in the end." Hofmann added that Seinsch "did not make any profit with the sale of the club shares" (SPONSORs, 5/26).
