Ligue 1 Chooses GoalControl As Goal-Line Technology System, Changes Relegation

Ligue 1 "has become the first European top league to choose GoalControl as its goal-line technology system," according to SPORT1. The France's top flight will introduce the system, which was developed in Germany, at the start of the '15-16 season. The French league association (LFP) confirmed the decision on its website. The Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A will all use the British Hawk-Eye system with the beginning of the new season. In addition, the LFP decided that "only the last two teams, instead of the last three, will be relegated from '15-16 onward" (SPORT1, 5/21).
