Event Notes: FFA Officials To Meet With AFL Staff To Discuss '15-16 Schedule

Officials from Football Federation Australia met Australian Football League staff on Monday to "try to resolve the stadium imbroglio" that forced some 20,000 A-League side Melbourne Victory supporters to miss Sunday's grand final victory over Sydney. FFA will release its '15-16 fixture by the end of June, and aims to "reveal the date of the grand final several weeks earlier." The AFL would thus have "several months' warning" before it works on its fixture list for the '16 footy season (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 5/18). ... The Int'l Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Council has awarded the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships to the German Gymnastics Federation and the city of Stuttgart, bringing the World Championships back to a city with deep Gymnastics roots. Stuttgart and Rotterdam, Netherlands, were finalists for the final World Championships to be held before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (FIG). ... The Ultimate Fighting Championship is "set to expand its presence in Asia" with an event in Seoul in November. UFC announced that the event will be held at Seoul's Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena on Nov. 28 (REUTERS, 5/17).
