Silvio Berlusconi Reportedly Willing To Sell No More Than 35% Of AC Milan

AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi is "now reportedly prepared to only sell" up to 35% of the club to Chinese investors, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. The 78-year-old patron had "originally considered selling the majority share, then noted after talks with Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol" that he would keep at least 51%. La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Berlusconi has "further strengthened his grip on the Rossoneri," parting with at most 35% of the shares. He said, "My concern is only to do what is best for Milan and the Milan fans." It is believed new investors will be asked to put €200M ($229M) to €250M ($286M) into the club coffers. Bee has "seemingly been dropped, so negotiations continue with Richard Lee" and directly with Chinese President Xi Jinping (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 5/17).
