Super League Side Salford Red Devils Concerned With Small Crowds

Senior figures at Super League side Salford Red Devils "have been in discussions with local businesses this week as concern about the poor attendance levels at the AJ Bell Stadium continues to grow," according to Tim Groves of RUNNING RUGBY. Just 1,972 fans turned up to watch the 19-0 Super League defeat to Huddersfield Giants last Friday and "a significant number of season ticket holders are thought to have stayed away." Salford CEO Martin Vickers is "also contacting all head teachers in the local area, as well as speaking to local businesses, in an attempt to boost support among younger people in and around Salford" (RUNNING RUGBY, 5/14).
