Valencia Owner Peter Lim Reportedly In Talks With Portuguese Side Rio Ave

La Liga side Valencia Owner Peter Lim is reportedly considering "acquiring a stake" in Portuguese first division club Rio Ave, according to Pascual Calabuig of SUPERDEPORTE. Portuguese sports newspaper Record reported that Lim and Jorge Mendes' Gestifute agency are in talks with the club. Lim's plan is to "situate the club at the top of its league and convert it into a nest in which promising young players could develop before making the jump to a bigger team like Valencia." Before Lim "could negotiate an acquisition, though, the club would first have to become a public limited company (SAD)." Gestifute and Rio Ave execs, "principally club President Silva Campos, have reportedly initiated talks." Rio Ave is expected to profit this season for the seventh consecutive year (SUPERDEPORTE, 5/2).
