Brasileiro Side Palmeiras Closes First Trimester Of '15 With R$6M Surplus

In March, Brasileiro side Palmeiras "ended one month with a surplus for the first time" since President Paulo Nobre took over in Jan. '13, according to Thiago Ferri of LANCENET. Palmeiras obtained a profit of R$11.7M in the past month, which "corrected the January and February deficit" and helped the club close this year's first trimester with R$6M. The club's "main triumphs" were sponsorships from Crefisa bank, Faculdade das Américas college and health insurance company Prevent Senior, totaled at R$50M ($16.6M) for the year, as well as box office revenue, which totaled nearly $15M ($5M). In addition, Palmeiras' membership program generated a net income of R$2M in March alone (LANCENET, 5/1).
