Event Notes: Stockton-On-Tees To Host 2016 National Road Championships

The Isle of Man has lost out to Stockton-on-Tees in its bid to host the 2016 British Cycling National Road Championships. British Cycling said that it was a "tough decision, but the fact Stockton has previously hosted a National Series event was a contributing factor." This year's event will be held in Lincolnshire in June (BBC, 4/29). ... The 2015 BBC Sports Personality of the Year will be held in Belfast on Dec. 20. An 8,000-capacity audience at the city's Odyssey Arena is expected to attend the annual awards show. It will be the first time that Northern Ireland has hosted the event, which first went on the road in '06 (BBC, 4/29).
