Liverpool Manager Brendan Rodgers Backs Fans' Right To Boycott Ticket Prices

Liverpool Manager Brendan Rodgers said that he "respects the right of Liverpool's fans to boycott" Tuesday's match at Hull City in a protest over ticket prices, according to Mike Whalley of ESPN. Reds supporters are "being charged" £50 ($76) per seat to watch the game at the KC Stadium. The Spirit of Shankly fans' group has "planned the boycott," pointing out that supporters of Burnley only have to pay £16 ($24) to "see their team play at Hull." Rodgers said, "I was made aware of the issue. I respect the supporters' right to protest. I don't know so much about it. But supporters work very hard to earn the money to get to games, so I respect the right to protest" (ESPN, 4/27).
