Marketplace Roundup: Adidas Extends Deals With BBL Sides Berlin, Munich Until '20

Adidas has extended its partnerships with Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) sides Alba Berlin and Bayern Munich. The company signed early contract extensions with both clubs until '20. As a result, adidas will remain the official supplier of two of Germany's most successful basketball teams. The current deals were set to expire at the end of the '14-15 season (adidas). ... Neymar's latest endorsement deal is with Listerine. He reportedly signed a two-year deal with the brand and will appear in TV commercials, on digital platforms and in special campaigns. He will "shoot his first Listerine commercial this week in Barcelona." Neymar now has 10 personal sponsors including Nike and Panasonic (SPORT, 4/23). ... Brasileiro side Palmeiras made a new deal with college Faculdade das Américas, one of its current sponsors, "for the naming rights on its online streaming channel, TV Palmeiras." The deal, "valid for two years," is worth R$2.6M ($874,500) (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 4/23). ... Water brand Perrier "has renewed its partnership with the French Open tennis tournament" until '18. Perrier has been a partner of Roland Garros for 37 years (LSA, 4/22). ... Second Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli has extended its sponsorship with alcoholic beverage brand Captain Morgan for another year until June 30, 2016. The brand has been a partner of the club since '12 (St. Pauli). ... Toshiba "agreed a one-year extension to its sponsorship of Chinese club Hangzhou Greentown FC." The deal "will see the Japanese multinational technology company continue as the team’s front-of-shirt sponsor" (SOCCEREX, 4/23). ... ASOS partnered with the British Paralympic Association "to design formal and ceremony wear for ParalympicsGB." Paralympians Will Bayley, Jordanne Whiley, Sam Ruddock and Lauren Steadman "took to the ASOS catwalk in London for the announcement." Designs "will be worn by approximately 250-300 selected athletes, plus support staff, on any official ParalympicsGB business" (SPORT INDUSTRY, 4/23). ... League One side Barnsley announced a new four-year technical kit partnership with Puma and Genesis Sports. The contract commences at the start of the '15-16 season and will see Puma supply the club with its technical and replica kit and training wear. The partnership will be managed by Genesis Sports, Puma Teamsports' licensee in the U.K. and Ireland since '02 (Barnsley). ... Ascot Racecourse announced Stella Artois as its official beer and cider in a three-year deal. The partnership includes distribution across Ascot Racecourse and will be supported by activations, outdoor advertising, PR and digital (Ascot). 

INFRONT, FRANKFURT MARATHON PARTNER: Infront Sports & Media became the marketing partner of the Frankfurt Marathon with immediate effect. The agreement includes the distribution of sponsorship packages and is intended as a longterm cooperation. The race has IAAF Gold Label status -- the only other event to hold this label is the BMW Berlin-Marathon (Infront).
