Repucom has appointed DAVID CUSHNAN as its global communications manager. Starting in May, Cushnan will be based in London and will report directly to Repucom's Cologne-based Global Head of Corp. Communications ILKA WENDLANDT. Cushnan will help to implement and further develop Repucom's int'l thought leadership communication. Prior to joining Repucom, Cushnan oversaw SportsPro's entire editorial output as editor-in-chief (Repucom). ... MARIUS VIZER has been re-elected as the president of SportAccord "by a unanimous vote after running unopposed for the role." This is Vizer’s first full four-year term as SportAccord president, "having been elected to the post for the first time" in '13 for a two-year term (ISPORTCONNECT, 4/21). Mexico National Commission for Physical Culture & Sport (CONADE) Dir ALFREDO CASTILLO was last week named the replacement for JESÚS MENA. He discussed on Monday the cancellation of "what would have been the first Int'l Swimming Federation (FINA) Swimming World Championships ever held in Mexico" in '17 (LA AFICIÓN, 4/20).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Atlético Madrid's B team, which competes in the Spanish third division, "has a new coach for the four games remaining in the current season." ROBERTO FRESNEDOSO, until now the coach of Atlético's C team, "has been chosen to replace CARLOS SÁNCHEZ AGUIAR" (AS, 4/21). ... Relegation-threatened Romanian side Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt has "sacked" Brazilian coach ZÉ MARIA for the second time in a week. Maria was "fired on Wednesday after a poor run, only to be reinstated the next day after flamboyant" Ceahlaul Owner ANGELO MASSONE "decided 'give the coaching staff another chance.'" Maria will be replaced by Serbian VANYA RADINOVIC (REUTERS, 4/21). ... Serie A side Cagliari head coach ZDENEK ZEMAN stepped down from his position at the club. The 67-year-old became the club's manager for the second time this season last month, succeeding GIANFRANCO ZOLA (FIFA).
