Media Notes: French Communications Group R9 Adds Sports To Portfolio

French communications group R9 "has added sports to its portfolio." Sportainment 360 "will join the group and become R9 Sport" (CB NEWS, 4/21). ... Players and coaches from Ligue 1 sides Paris St. Germain and Marseille "will reply to questions posed by journalists from French television channel Canal Plus after ending a 10-day boycott on Monday." PSG issued a statement saying that it was "satisfied the French league authorities had moved to restrict Canal Plus in what post-match images they would be able to shoot in the players tunnel." Marseille said that it "had held constructive talks with senior figures from Canal Plus over the past few days and that significant progress had been made" (SPORT24, 4/21). ... Serie A side AS Roma partnered with football social network Toalk. The deal will see the digital platform provide "official news and exclusive social media content" direct to mobile and tablet devices (SOCCEREX, 4/21). ... TV4 announced that it "will show the first ever Tour De Yorkshire race live." The race, organized by Tour De France organizers ASO, and one that "is expected to attract some of the world tour teams," is over three days and starts in Bridlington on May 1. ITV4 "will have commentary and news from Gary Imlach, Ned Boulting as well as former professionals David Millar and Chris Boardman" (SPORT, 4/21).
