Marketplace Roundup: Eintracht Frankfurt Signs Four-Year Extension With Fraport

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt has extended its partnership with Fraport for another four years. The airport operator has been a sponsor of the club since '01. After 11 years as its shirt sponsor, Fraport became a premium partner of the club in '12. The extension was brokered by Sportfive (Eintracht Frankfurt). ... Audi "will reportedly extend its contract with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin." The current deal "is set to expire at the end of the '15-16 season." Audi pays around €300,000 ($323,000) annually as part of its three-year deal with the team (SPONSORs, 4/21). ... Hampshire Cricket announced a new corporate partnership with Hampshire Fare. The organizations will collaborate on an activities program for the coming year (Hampshire Cricket). ... HSBC and the Hong Kong Golf Association launched the HSBC Hong Kong Junior Golf Programme, "an expanded and enhanced version" of the HKGA's current junior development program which offers a structured pathway for children to try the sport for the first time, develop their skills and, for those talented enough, the chance to represent Hong Kong on the int'l stage. The HSBC Hong Kong Junior Golf Programme "includes a number of new initiatives," including the HSBC Golf For Schools program and an annual match between the top juniors from Hong Kong and their counterparts in China (CHINA DAILY, 4/21). ... Barcelona's Luis Suárez wore the new Adidas Primeknit 2.0 boots when his side took on Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain on Tuesday. Other players who donned the boots included Ezequiel Lavezzi and Lucas Moura of PSG, Juan Bernat (Barcelona), Fabinho (Monaco), Fernando Torres (Atlético Madrid) and Álvaro Morata (Juventus) (London DAILY MIRROR, 4/21). ... League Two side Portsmouth announced that Jobsite signed a new three-year deal to be the club’s main partner. The Havant-based online job board has been involved with the club as the main partner since '09 -- the last season Pompey was in the Premier League. The new deal is of significant financial value (Portsmouth).

IN SPAIN: Atlético Madrid has struck a sponsorship deal on behalf of the Spanish Football League (LFP), with the team's socks for next season "containing a strap logo" of video game series Pro Evolution Soccer. The deal was originally done between technology providers Sockatyes and the LFP in October, with Atlético one of the first clubs to "try the new technology for next season." This is reportedly a new initiative to "try and level out the finances in the division in order for clubs to challenge" Real Madrid and Barcelona (CAUGHT OFFSIDE, 4/18). ... LFP President Javier Tebas signed an agreement with Chinese nutrition brand Kingdomway, which becomes the LFP's new Asian sponsor (LFP).
